On March 18, 2016 I was invited to speak at the Austrian Federal Chancellery on the state of data privacy laws and culture in the U.S. I then took part in a panel discussion with, among other participants, Mr. Max Schrems from Europe v. Facebook.
In addition how laws differed from those in the E.U. I also shared my Fulbright research, including a new concept I’ve been working on called “Free Market Privacy,” where data security is only provided to users only because it benefits the companies holding their data. Instead of a basic human right enshrined by the constitution, privacy is a byproduct of capitalist pursuits.
